Pink with Inner Gold

Ugh, it's been ages since I managed to find time to post this look diary. Honestly, I did this look the day after my previous look but the process of sitting down (or lying down, to be really honest) and arranging what meager photos I took and downloaded and then type it all out is a task that really should not be done when I'm swamped with work.

So! Let's get on with it, yeah?

This is a pink eyeshadow with a hint of gold at the inner corner for a highlight colour. Generally, when I use pink, I do like to pair it with some sort of gold or bronze shimmer since I think it's quite a nice pair. And also, I was trying out a new cushion foundation but I think I went a bit too heavy so yeah, I hated how it sat on my skin. Gonna use it a couple more times to see what I think about it.

Starting of with fresh face and my horrible sense of lighting and photo taking skills, oh yes

Anyway, listing down the products I used and think is relevant to this:

1. Sace Lady Eyebrow Gel in Dark Grey

2. Beauty Glazed Melon eyeshadow palette
3. Focallure Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Berry Red

So, ignoring the cushion foundation I used because as we can see, my face is white as ghost and definitely do not match my neck, I used the same eyebrow gel because meh, why not?
I went for a slightly bolder brows because sometimes my hand just goes heavy and welp, there goes nothing

Next, I use the matte pink shade and placed it all over the top lid, like so. I used the bottom middle pink, but to be honest, the middle right pink will work fine too. It really depends on which foundation shade I'm using or well, not using.

It's a very soft wash of colour but it's okay, I don't need it to be overly pigmented

How it looks like with my eyes open, which is a very important checking step since I have hooded eyes

After I'm happy with the base colour placement, I used the pink shimmer shade on the middle left and dab it right in the middle with my finger until it pretty much screams PINK!!!
I lied, it just talked slightly louder than previously

Then! I go ahead and use the orange-y gold shimmer at the top middle and placed it at my inner corner but I did drag it a bit more at the bottom part of the eye. Because 2 reasons: 1. I like it and 2. It does show up more at my bottom lash so meh, why not?
A lot of my favourite eye looks actually involved a golden shimmer at the inner corner of only because I have a couple of shade options to choose from

And then, I used same matte pink shade and brush it lightly over 2/3rds of my lower lash to balance the top part. This is a move that took my ages to get used to because for a while, I only put eyeshadow on my top lid and ignore the bottom part entirely because I'm afraid of going overboard and dragging it down too much. Which, is also a look I don't think I can carry because of how bad my eye bags used to be.

To be fair, I think the eyeshadow is fine with just the top lid but since I do tend to get some eyeshadow on the bottom while blending, might as well put it there intentionally, right?

Then I thought, hmm, something is missing, so I rustle through my brushes and found my gel eyeliner pencil and lined the top lashes, bottom outer half water line, and a very very small wing at the end. I say very very small wing because with way my eyelids droop, I find it pretty much impossible to do any sort of wing liner. I'd have to start way past the end of my eyes and I never can make it work, so on the rare occasions I decide to wing it, it's tiny, so minuscule it might as well not be there but it does make a difference, okay?
I'd say it's sort of similar to the droopy puppy wing that was very popular with the Korean make up trend years ago

And then with just a small pencil brush to smudge and blend the eye liner at the bottom lash with the eyeshadow, it's done!

I took a couple of photos in different lighting to see how it worked out:

These 2 were taken in a dark room but with the curtains opened so it's as direct sunlight as I can get without actually going out into the sun

These 2 were taken in a brighter room condition, as in, the sunlight came in from huge sliding doors rather than me just moving the curtains out of the way

Overall, I'm actually quite happy with how this turned out. Because of the way my eyes are shaped, I can go really heavy on the lid without it looking too much until I blink. And also because I do prefer to have colours rather than shades of brown, it's surprisingly harder for me to do a neutral look than a colourful one.

Aight, that's the end of this look diary. Ciao!
